How To Make Buttercream

Hey Everyone Liz here!
So today I'm going to take you through the steps of making butter-cream. Now these are not personal steps, these are steps that I have learned but do not personally use. When I first started making butter cream it was rough. The butter cream never came out the way I wanted  it to. It never was the right consistency and it never held its shape. However, I have learned to make it correctly and so far so good!
Thing you will need:
  • 1 bag confectioners Sugar
  • Crisco
  • Milk
  • Vanilla Extract (clear)
  • Butter
Step 1.
Put About two big spoonful's of Crisco into a large mixing bowl. Add a medium spoonful of butter. And a teaspoon of Milk
Step 2.
Add a cup of confectioners sugar to you Crisco, butter, and ,milk. Be sure to only add a cup at a time as needed.
Step 3.
Next start to mix you ingredients together with an electric mixer. Butter cream will start to mix together. If it comes out into little pieces in the shape of balls make sure to add a little more milk (about a teaspoon). The butter cream will start to become fluffy. If it is watery then you need to add more sugar. If you feel you did not make enough for what you are covering then just add more Crisco along with milk butter and sugar into the same bowl. Keep mixing for about five minuets until butter cream gets to the consistency that you prefer. Don't be afraid to add more sugar. When mixing your mixer should not be able to mix the butter cream smoothly on the Low setting. You will need to have it on high setting because the butter cream will become Thick, that how you know its ready!
